Hey everyone, I just recorded the latest JewelryMonk Podcast this week, take a listen and I hope you find something beneficial….. actually I know you will. You can also download it on your mobile device or smart phone from iTunes or Stitcher if you need to listen to it while you are out driving. I touched on quite a few subjects like:

Health Tip of the Week

A Pain In The Neck     by Bradney W. Simon – © Bench Magazine

I found an article which might help you if you suffer from back or neck problems from working at the bench for long periods at a time. In addition to the article, I talk about two things that have helped my back, an Ergonomic Knee Chair and a True Back. Listen to find out more how these simple devices has saved me thousands of dollars….. really (click on links to see them)

Question of the Week:

I received a question on the website from a podcast listener about maintaining a patina on a new design. I cover three options to help keep her design looking great for a long time. Protectaclear is a product that might help, as well as some design options to keep the patina lasting longer.

Jewelry Tip of the Week:

I did a video lesson earlier this week on ways to set and tighten a bezel set stone. The video can be found by clicking on the link in the upper right corner of this website, or by clicking HERE for the link. I also touched on some other tips in the podcast that weren’t in the video.

Chuckle of the Week

A Story entitled:“Niagara Falls’ New Recycling Mascot ‘Totes McGoats’ Is Straight from Your Nightmares”

The city of Niagara Falls has recently made two very curious decisions. The first is that they’ve decided to give the act of recycling a physical mascot for some reason. The second is they’ve made that mascot a goat-headed man-beast named “Totes McGoats,” that the Internet has noted, appears to be a strange demon straight from the pit of nightmares. In photos the local news shared on Twitter, even his handlers seem a little skittish about this whole idea. If their goal was to frighten children into recycling, then perhaps they have succeeded. Even the mayor seemed slightly unnerved about the unveiling, telling Buffalo News, “I guess you would say Totes is a cute animal mascot, kind of scary, actually. But having an animal mascot, we think, is one of the ways that you can reach out to kids and get their attention.”

Cool Tool of the Week

Have you ever struggled to hold a small, or any sized piece for that matter while working on it?

Green Dop Wax is for you. Beeswax based holding wax usually used in stone cutting and shaping…hence the name

I have different sized wooden dowels 6-8″ long, 1 1/2″, 1″, 1/2″ and smaller,  I also have a small thin jar about the size of the top of a baby food jar lid full for flat objects for engraving, stamping, stone setting, etc.

….and I leave you with a quote for the week:

Robert Kennedy: “Only those who dare to fail greatly, can ever achieve greatly.”
